Hello Families!
I hope you are doing well and enjoying the beautiful weather. I miss your child so incredibly much! Please see the notes below. *Monday, May 4th is a no school day. Kindergarten does have optional plans included, but it is nothing that is required. You also do not need to complete attendance on Monday. *There is a supply pick up on Wednesday, March 6th. This will include your child's journal binder from the year, a yearbook (if you ordered one), and a few miscellaneous things. *The district is having a staff parade on Friday, May 8th. Please see the email from Mrs. Schulz for all of the details. *Starting next week, we are having "Fix-It Fridays." This means that we will not be sending out new lessons on Fridays. This is a time for your child to catch up on things that they maybe didn't get to earlier in the week. *I have LOVED seeing children on the Zoom meetings. Starting next week, I will be offering Zoom meetings on Thursdays at 6:30 PM and Fridays at 10:00 AM. These meetings will have the same story and activity. I will send the meeting invites out the day before. Thank you, thank you, thank you for all you are doing. If you are feeling overwhelmed, please remember that the most important things you can be doing now are making sure your child is getting enough sleep, eating meals as a family, playing outside together and reading to your child. You are a WONDERFUL parent! Enjoy your weekend, Stephanie

Hello Families!
It was so good to see many of you via the Zoom meetings yesterday! I plan to have a Zoom meeting on Tuesday and Thursday of next week. I appreciate the feedback about the times. I will move the morning meeting to 10:00 and keep the evening meeting at 6:30. I will send the zoom invites out next week. Please remember that the Zoom meetings are optional. We will not be having Distance Learning on Friday, May 1st or Monday, May 4th. As a kindergarten team, we already have those lesson plans done, so we will still include activities for Friday and Monday, but know that they are optional and you do not have to complete them. You will also not need to do attendance these two days. Wednesday, April 29th will be hat day. If you take photos of your child that day and want them included in the school video, you can send photos to [email protected] Enjoy your weekend and know that I appreciate everyone's hard work! Stephanie Good Afternoon,
I am so impressed with the work and videos that I am seeing in Seesaw. Parents-thank you for all you are doing to help your child be successful during this time. Students- I am so very proud of all of your hard work! Wednesday, April 22 is silly sock day. I have added the week 4 plan links under the distance learning tab. As always, please email with any questions or concerns. Enjoy your weekend, Stephanie Good Morning,
A friendly reminder that there is a parent supply pick up today, April 16th. Mrs. Sauererc’s Kindergarten Pick Up Contents List: All items are for you to use with your child as you choose. Nothing needs to be turned in or returned. COVID19 Time Capsule- May be a fun activity for your child to work on during the stay home order. It will be a unique time to look back upon and have some memories recorded. Number Chart- A math resource for you. Familiarity with the number chart is helpful in first grade. Ideas for the 100 chart:
Rhyming Game--Cut out the rhyming picture cards. Students can match the words that rhyme. Play memory with the pieces. Alphabet Match--Cut out the pieces of the alphabet puzzle. Mix up the pieces. Students can put together the puzzles matching the uppercase, lowercase, and picture with the same beginning sound. Number ID game--Cut out the number picture puzzle pieces. Have fun matching the picture to the written number. Writing List and Cards--Use the word list and attached card templates to write little notes to people to brighten their day. Let’s Find Out--Read our classroom issues at home! Wonders Sight Word Readers--These are some of the readers that we have not yet completed in Kindergarten. Please do not expect your child to be able to sit down and read them. A lot of teaching goes into using the readers in the classroom. If you would like to use them at home follow this routine:
Option 2- Read it together. You can read a sentence while your child points to each word. Have your child read the same sentence pointing to each word as he/she reads it. Option 3-Your child will read the sentences. Assist as needed when encountering unknown words.
Art Supplies-- Extra supplies for you to use with any of the projects you are working on. Again, these are not required activities, just more resources if you want to use them. None of these items need to be returned. Please let me know if you have any questions. Have a great day! Stephanie Hi Families!
It was so good to see some of you during the teacher parade yesterday. It made me miss you and your hugs even more. I hope you are all doing well. Please know that I think about you every day. Please remember to sign in each day for attendance. Your child needs to be signed in to be marked present for the day. Happy Easter! Enjoy the long weekend with your family. Remember that you do not have to check in or do any activities Friday, April 10th or Monday, April 13th. Please try to answer the question of the day each day on Seesaw. Remember the question of the day is located on your daily plans from Seesaw and on the PDF of the weekly plans below. This weeks flip grid video link is: https://flipgrid.com/935675d8 On April 15th, students are invited to join Mrs. Sauerer and the rest of the school for wacky hair day. You can send a photo to Mrs. Sauerer, if you want. On April 16th, there will be another supply pick up. We will have items for each kindergartener to pick up. Watch for an email from Mrs. Schultz for more information. As always, please email with any questions or concerns. I miss you all so much! Have a blessed Easter, Stephanie Hi Families,
I am SO PROUD of all of the hard work that you have done this week. I am so impressed by all of the work shown on Seesaw. I miss you all so very much! I love seeing smiling faces on the photos and videos that you have sent. Please remember to complete attendance each day. Also, this week, I would like everyone to answer the question of the day. You can add your response in Seesaw. Your response can be something written, something drawn or a video of you saying your answer. Friday, April 10th is a non-school day. It is optional to complete the activities listed for that day. I hope everyone has a safe and healthy Easter! Distance Learning Week Two Plans and Videos are under the Distance Learning tab. As always, please email if you have any questions. Stephanie Hi Families,
Welcome to the first day of Kindergarten Distance Learning. Please use the drop down menu under "Distance Learning" to find attendance, weekly plans and videos, and the parent letter. I look forward to this new journey with you. I will be available by email Monday-Friday 8:00-3:00. Please let me know if you have any questions. Stephanie Hi Again,
We will be using Seesaw for teacher-student communication. You can either download the Seesaw student app or access the website: https://web.seesaw.me/ When you login, login as a student. Each family should have received an email with their child's unique code. Right now I am just hoping to have you log in and play around. I have posted a welcome video. See if it is easy to find and if you can respond in some way (video, photo, or message). This is a helpful video about using Seesaw. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RRQrR21ZEuM&feature=youtu.be Hi Families,
This is our Kindergarten Distance Learning Plan. Each Friday, I will email out the next weeks plan. This weeks videos (stories) will not be emailed out until Monday morning. I will email these out each day as well as post them on my weebly site. Each day will show up on Seesaw as well. I wanted to give you an idea of what we are expecting of the kindergarteners. If you have any questions, please let me know. |
