Good Afternoon,
We are having so much fun this week! The kids and teachers are having fun with the dress up days and special activities. We made "Thing" hats today and took a class photo. I have the photo attached below. *In February, students got to decorate a mask. They used sharpie markers to decorate. I have ironed the masks and washed them twice. I would still recommend washing them by hand or separately from clothes. I am not sure if the marker will bleed at all. *Book orders are due Wednesday, March 10th, if you are interested in ordering. *Friday, March 12th is an At Home Learning Day. We will NOT have any live instruction. I will send purple folders home next Thursday. I hope you are able to enjoy the warm weather this weekend. Stephanie

Good Afternoon,
We had another fun week in kindergarten! The school filled the Huskie House with Paw Slips, so everyone was able to watch a movie and have a popcorn treat. *Tomorrow, February 26th is an At Home Learning Day. We will NOT have any live instruction. Your child does have their ipad in the their backpack because they will need to log onto Seesaw and do an activity that was assigned from Mrs. Olson. Mrs. Olson will not be live, so they can complete it at any time. I did not send any chargers home, so please have your child wait to use the ipad until they do the art assignment. *Next week, we will celebrate Read Across America Week. Students are invited to dress up for the following days: Monday: Silly Socks Tuesday: Wear a Hat Wednesday: Wear Stripes Thursday: Wear Green Friday: Dress as your favorite Dr. Seuss Character *I will be gone Monday, March 1st. I did share with the class that I will be gone because my sister is leaving for boot camp and training for 20 weeks. I am driving her to South Dakota. *The March calendar, March reading log, and March book order notes are all in your child's BEE folder. Stephanie Good Evening,
We have had a lot of fun in kindergarten the past few days. Last week, we enjoyed dressing up for spirit week. The kids have also been working on the I Love to Read Month challenges from the library. One day last week, they sorted and counted the letters in Alpha-Bits cereal box. We dressed up as a class "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" for character day. Today, we shared our 100 day creations, made a necklace with 100 fruit loops on it, and made fun 100 day hats. The students also got to see how many jumping jacks, toe touches, and windmills they could do in 100 seconds. Have a great evening, Stephanie Good Afternoon,
We had so much fun in kindergarten today! We painted hearts, handed out Valentine's, and watched a Clifford Valentine movie. My favorite part of the day was the kids handing out Valentine's to adults in our building that maybe wouldn't normally get them from students. (office staff, custodial staff, specialist, and lunchroom staff) We made the cards yesterday and the kids got to pick who they were going to give their cards to. We went to each area today and sang a song and gave them the Valentine cards. Reminder that we do not have school on Thursday, February 11th, Friday, February 12th, or Monday, February 15th. Next week is spirit week. Students are invited to join in the following: Tuesday: Wear pajamas and hat Wednesday: Jersey/Sport attire day Thursday: Dress like your favorite character Friday: Purple Pride Conferences are Thursday, February 18th and Monday, February 22nd. Mrs. Schutlz sent out the signup link on Monday. Please sign up as soon as possible. I look forward to meeting with all of you do discuss your child and the growth they have made so far this school year. We will celebrate the 100th day of kindergarten on Monday, February 22nd. Students are invited to dress like they are 100 years old. They should also make a 100 day project. I sent the 100 day note home in their BEE folder yesterday. Enjoy the long weekend, Stephanie Good Afternoon,
I hope you are staying warm. Students had fun playing in the gym during indoor recess due to the cold temperatures today. We also spent some time playing games and doing puzzles. They worked together really well. Please remember to send your child's Valentine box with them on Monday. Also, please remember that no candy or food treats are allowed this year. We do not have school on Thursday, February 11th, Friday, February 12th or Monday, February 15th. Have a great weekend, Stephanie Good Afternoon,
We had a very fun week learning about the letter Cc, the sight word go, and 3D shapes. Students were able to create fun 3D shapes with toothpicks and playdoh today. Tomorrow, (Friday, January 29th) is an At Home Learning Day. Students have their purple folder, ipad, headphones, and a food bag in their backpack today. Students have been asking to have Show and Tell. They will be able to share one item with the class during our Google Meet tomorrow. If anyone has any extra clorox wipes, we would love some for our classroom. Our supply is down to one can. I have added 2 blue "At Home Learning Boards" to the back of your child's BEE folder. Please do not do anything with these. These are only in there to use incase we ever have a snow day. Thank you for all you do! Stephanie Good Afternoon,
We had a great week in kindergarten learning about landforms, the letter Nn, and skip counting by 5’s and 10’s. Tomorrow, Friday, January 22nd, is an At Home Learning Day. I sent the purple folder home with your child today. The folder contains the work for them to complete tomorrow. Teachers will NOT be logging in Google Meet tomorrow. I sent their ipads home because they will need them for their assignment from their specialist teacher (SEL with Ms. Courtney). The folder also has a note about Valentine’s Day. You do not have to do any of the Valentine’s Day stuff tomorrow. I am just sending it home so you are aware of what we will be doing for it. Yearbook Update: If you have not yet purchased a yearbook, please do so by February 26th. Extra yearbooks are not guaranteed. The price of the yearbook is $20.00. Thank you for all you do! Stephanie Good Afternoon,
We had a fun and busy day in kindergarten. I was FAST testing with the kids today, so Mr. Haynes was in the classroom with them. He said they did a great job. The students also got to go sledding for their marble party. It was the PERFECT day for sledding. It was so fun to see them playing together and having fun outside. I have sent home the following things in your child's backpack: *Bee Folder with Kindergarten eLearning Bingo Board with directions. This should only be used IF we have a snow day tomorrow. If not, please just send them back blank tomorrow. *iPad: If it is a snow day tomorrow, your child will need this to log in with me at 8:15. If it is not a snow day, please just send it back tomorrow. *iPad charger. Please make sure to send these back. *Friday At Home Learning Folder. These can be kept at home for Friday, January 15th. Please do not do any of the work inside the folder until Friday. Please let me know if you have any questions, Stephanie Hello,
A reminder that tomorrow is an At Home Learning Day. Students have their purple At Home Learning Folders in their backpacks, along with their headphones, and ipad. Ipads are charged and ready to go for tomorrow. I did not send any chargers home because there should be enough battery for our lessons tomorrow. Please send back any supplies from Distance Learning time. I am still missing a lot of ipad chargers and purple scissors. If you still have these items at home, please send them back to school with your child on Monday. Also, please return the purple At Home Learning folder, with completed work, on Monday. The students had a ton of questions yesterday during and after the soft lockdown. I answered many questions yesterday and hopefully eased some of the stress. Ms. Kayla, the school social worker, came to talk with our class today. She did a great job answering questions that students had and reassuring them that it is okay to have different feelings about it and that we are always safe at school. Your child may talk about it tonight. Please let me know if you have any questions, Stephanie Good Evening,
I hope you enjoyed your holiday break. I am excited for tomorrow! It will be so good to see the kids after so long. Please remember to send your child's ipad and charger back tomorrow. Please also send back all of their supplies. If you need to, send some supplies back tomorrow and some on Tuesday, so their bags aren't too full. We will spend tomorrow talking about the holiday break, spending time with friends, reviewing rules, and getting back into routine. Stephanie |
