Hello,
Where has October gone? This month has flown by in Kindergarten! We have been busy learning about Fire Safety, Families, Seasons, Bats, and Pumpkins. In Math, we have been working on shapes, patterns, counting, penny, and number identification. In Language Arts, we have been working on the letters Aa, Mm, Ss, and Pp. We have also been working on rhyming, counting syllables, and reading fun stories. We are also starting to learn about nouns and verbs. Our Halloween Party is this Friday. If you are interested in volunteering, please return your sheet by tomorrow. Please send your child's costume to school on Friday, October 30th. I sent home a book order today. The book order is due Thursday, November 5th. Please continue to check your child's folder every night. November is going to be another busy month. I hope you have a wonderful day, Ms. Barthel

Dear Parents,
We have had a very busy week in Kindergarten. Below I have added some highlights of our week and some upcoming items. If you have any concerns or questions, please contact me. *On Friday, October 2nd, we had our PTA Walk A Thon. Avon Elementary raised over $16,000! Thank you for all of your contributions. We walked for thirty minutes and then went through fun stations. On Thursday, our class raised the most money for the day so we had a special treat. Thank you to the parent volunteers and the Avon PTA. *On Monday, October 5th, our class had a great time at the Avon Fire Department. The students were able to walk through a fire truck and learn some important fire safety rules. I want to thank all of the parent volunteers. We really appreciated the help. *Ludwig Photography will be here for picture retake day. Picture retake day is Wednesday, October 21st. *Wear orange on Wednesday, October 21st for Bully Prevention Day. *Many students are still unable to tie their shoes. Please continue to practice this important skill at home. *As the weather gets colder, please remember to send “outside attire” to school with your child. We do go outside daily. *The students have filled the marble jar! We earn marbles for good behavior. Students can wear their pajamas to school on Monday, October 12th. Please remember to send gym shoes. Have a great weekend, Ms. Barthel |
