Hello,
I cannot believe that today is the last day of September! The first month of Kindergarten flew by! Last week, we filled up our marble jar. The students voted to have extra time outside. On Friday, we spent an extra thirty minutes outside. The weather was beautiful! We also celebrated Apple Day on Friday. We did apple painting, created a model of an apple, and played fun apple games. In the afternoon, we watched an apple video and read apple books. The students were able to taste test a red apple, a green apple, a yellow apple, apple juice, and homemade apple sauce! Thank you for sending apples to make the yummy apple sauce! This week, we are celebrating homecoming at school. Yesterday, the Albany High School homecoming royalty came to talk to our class. Students are invited to dress up this week. Monday: Red, White, and Blue Tuesday: Jersey Wednesday: Camo Thursday: Favorite Color Friday: Purple/Huskie Attire Please send completed September reading logs back to school by the end of the week. Students will earn a special treat for completing and returning these. I will be sending home the October reading log tomorrow. You should have received our October calendar on Monday. If you have any questions, please call or email me. Thank You! Ms. Barthel

Hello,
We are having a great day! It was fun to see all of the kids dressed up for picture day! This week in reading, we are learning "Read To Self." Students are focusing on reading the pictures. We are also working on Environmental Print. Please continue to send examples of Environmental Print in. Examples: The Target logo, cereal boxes, restaurant logos. We are making a class book with all of the examples. In Math, we are working on sorting and graphing. Students have really enjoyed the sorting activities! In Health, we are learning about Germs. Ask your child about the germ monster book that we read. They loved it! We are also continuing to learn our colors and shapes this week. If you have not paid your $10 supply fee (it was on the school supply list) please send it to school with your child sometime this week. Thank You! Ms. Barthel Hello!
We are off to a wonderful start! Students have really enjoyed red and orange day! We have also been working on cutting, gluing and basic classroom procedures. Students will be coming home with a decodable book tonight. Please read the decodable book with your child a few times during the next week and return the book on Monday. Your child should have also brought home a calendar on Friday that includes the color days, birthdays and other important days. Remember that tomorrow is yellow day, Thursday is green day and Friday is purple day! Thank you! Ms. Barthel |
