Hello All!
We hope the new year has found you all well! We are settling very nicely back into a routine here at school. The upcoming February is a busy month, so please keep the calendar handy (on the back of this). I will not be sending homework during the month of February due to it being so busy. Please make sure that you complete the items on this page and turn them in when due. February is I Love to Read Month. Please make sure to read chapters from The Mouse and Motorcycle each night with your child. Each family should have a book to read at home. If you did not get one, please let me know. Each year, I have parents/guardians and children create a Valentine container in which to collect valentines. The children love to spend this time with you, and the creativity is overwhelming! We have had aliens, crocodiles, and even SpongeBob Squarepants one year! Have fun with this! The only suggestions are an opening in which to place valentines, and a way to get valentines out so we can read them! Please have these to school by Friday, February 10th! As for Valentines, please note the attached class list. Please have your child write their name, and their friends’ names if possible. Because our finger muscles are developing, little fingers may tire easily. Please consider writing 5 or 6 valentines a night to help alleviate sore fingers. Please make sure to include each student. We will celebrate the 100th day of school on Tuesday, February 7th. Please count out one hundred of any item to send to school with your child to share with the class. Please share this by Friday, February 3rd. In the past, (baggies work as a great container) we have seen Legos, pennies, stickers.... Your choice! Food items aren’t the best for this, since we like to count them more than once. Kindergarten Conferences will be held on February 9th, 13th and 14th. Just a note that we are enjoying the playground during recess. We are still in need of warm winter clothes, and do soak through mittens and snow pants. An extra set of socks or mittens are helpful if they can be spared! If you have any questions or concerns, please call or email. Thank You, Mrs. Sauerer

Good Morning!
I have a few important updates. 1. I have a NEW PHONE NUMBER. My new school phone number is 320-845-5310. Please use this number when calling me. Our school has switched phones. 2. Box Tops: Your child should have had a yellow Box Tops sheet in their folder last week. Please complete these and return them to school. This is a great way to earn money for our school from products that you already have in your home. 3. One District One Book: This is a new program that our school is doing. I am very excited to start this program! Mr. Johnson should have emailed a letter to everyone in the district. Please read through his email. Have a great day! Stephanie Hello!
We have been working hard on counting by 5's and tally marks this week. We have also learned about some careers. Thank you to the parents/guardians that volunteered their time to share about their career. The students loved learning about the different careers. In reading, we are working on blending words and rhyming. Please continue to work on counting and reading at home. Mrs. Sauerer Dear Parents/Guardians,
Some parents have requested homework for the rest of the school year. I will be creating a sheet of homework each week. I will be sending it home on the first day of the week. These sheets do not need to be returned to school. My hope is that you are also doing extra reading at home each night. I will be sending home conference dates and times tomorrow. Most of you signed up for a spot at our fall conference time. If you did not sign up for a spot I will assign you a spot. Please look over the sheet, complete the bottom portion and return to school as soon as possible. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. Thank You, Mrs. Sauerer Good Morning!
I am looking forward to seeing the kids in a little bit! I missed them over the break. I hope you enjoyed extra time with family and friends. This week should be pretty "normal" as we get back into our school routine. Please remember to send winter attire and gym shoes with your child each day. Please check your child's folder tonight for the January calendar and information about Careers. |
