Dear Parents,
As I was going over our schedule for the next couple of weeks, I realized I wrote the wrong date for our Valentine's Day Party in the note that was sent home. Our Valentine's Day Party will be on MONDAY, FEBRUARY 10TH. Four-day Kindergarten does NOT have school on WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 12TH.

Hello,
I was so happy to see all of the smiling faces today! It seems like so long since we have had a 'normal' school week. We do have library and gym on Thursday. Please remember to send gym shoes with your child. Also, January reading logs are due on Friday. Please send them back to school when they are completed so your child can earn a prize. Last week, I sent home a note about our field trip. Our field trip is on February 11th. We are going to see the Cat in the Hat play. Today, I sent home notes regarding our Valentine's Day Party and Jam the Gym. Please be sure to check your child's folder for these important notes. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me. Ms. Barthel P.S. The students had a great day! We are trying hard to fill up the marble jar. Hello Families,
I hope you are enjoying your day off! This week, we will be working on the _ip word family, subtraction, and finishing our family unit. We will also learn about Martin Luther King Jr. We do have gym all three days this week, so please make sure that your child has their gym shoes all three days. We also have library on Thursday, so remember to return library books. Ms. Barthel Hello Families,
We have been very busy in Kindergarten this week. In health, we focused on healthy foods and created plates of healthy food. In math, we have been working on addition and shapes. We will start learning subtraction soon! We are learning the letters Ll and Hh this week. Our new sight words are "you" and "have." Students are doing wonderful work in their journals this week! Some students are very excited to start reading harder decodable books. We welcome Ms. Marci to our classroom. She will be in our room to help during math and journaling time. We also welcome Angela Haynes to AOM. She took Mr. Raiche's spot. The kids seem to love our new helpers! Enjoy the rest of the week! Ms. Barthel Hello Families,
I hope you enjoyed your holiday break with your family. I am very excited for the rest of the school year! Students will now be required to write their first and last name on all papers. Students will also be sounding out the words in their journals, instead of just copying mine from the board. I have added monthly skills to the website, so you can help your child at home. I will still be sending home a paper copy of the monthly newsletter. I will be updating this blog about once a week with classroom news. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to email or call me. Thank You, Ms. Barthel |
